The Softie® Elite Series has a number of extra features, mainly the EPS (Expanda Panel System). When the EPS is not needed, it is an extra thick zip baffle helping to keep out those unwanted drafts. When extra room is needed simply deploy the EPS and zip it together with the zipper of the main body. The EPS provides an additional 5 inches of extra space.

The quality of this sleeping bag is impressive, and it’s incredibly comfortable. I recommended it to a buddy, and he ended up ordering one too.

I’m planning plenty of winter camping this season, so I tested it on my cot out on the balcony at around 0°C. I stayed toasty warm. so warm, in fact, that I woke up a few hours later sweating. With its advertised rating of -15°C to -20°C, it clearly had more warmth than I needed that night.

I still need to put it through its paces in colder conditions, but my first impression is excellent. I’m looking forward to getting it out on some proper winter camping trips.
