Fits 8x6 ceramic side plate like a glove plus soft trauma pad behind to protect front abdomen so it's good.
Solid kneepads.
These don't seem to dig into the back of the leg like other brands. Your PPE shouldn't hurt you.
Hard to find decent nets anymore. Amazon is a dice roll at best and I would rather support a Canadian company like this. Worth the purchase. Remember kids, make your own ghillie!
The light weight scrim Carcajou sells is great for this. What a game changer over jute for not weighing 1 ton soaking wet.
Definitely a better option, and reasonably hard to find. Glad they had these!
I'm very impressed with this pouch. Super easy to insert and remove the Nalgene bottle with a single hand, and it fits perfectly in the pouch too.
After nine years serving in the U.S. Army Infantry, including a deployment to Afghanistan, I learned that the difference between good gear and great gear is rarely how impressive it looks. It’s how thoughtfully it was designed.
That’s why the Recon Boonie Hat caught my attention.
To most people, it’s just a hat. To an infantryman, headgear is part of a system that needs to work through long days outdoors, changing weather, and demanding conditions. The camouflage pattern, coverage, brim design, and overall profile all matter.
What I appreciate about the Recon Boonie Hat is its purposeful design. It embraces the practical, field-oriented appearance of traditional military headgear without unnecessary flash.
After leaving the military, my appreciation for quality equipment never disappeared. Whether I’m spending time outdoors, working at the range, or passing along lessons about preparedness to my children, I still look at gear through the eyes of an infantryman.
The best equipment doesn’t need to scream tactical. It needs to make sense.
Nine years in uniform taught me to respect equipment designed with intention. A lifetime outdoors has taught me that the simplest pieces of gear are often the ones we appreciate most.
Because at the end of the day, great gear isn’t about looking the part.
It’s about understanding the purpose behind every detail.
Warm and waterproof, clips to pomchos. Great tool when your on an OP, only nice thing in the bag.
