BUILT IN CANADA.

Carcajou Tactical is a Canadian tactical gear manufacturer based in Gatineau, Quebec. We design, develop, cut, sew, assemble, and inspect our Carcajou Tactical equipment in-house, giving us direct control over the quality and performance of every product we produce.

Keeping our manufacturing in Canada allows us to react quickly, continuously improve our products, and maintain the standards expected by military personnel, law-enforcement professionals, first responders, and demanding outdoor users.

Our equipment is not designed around trends. It is built around real operational requirements, field experience, customer feedback, and the need for dependable performance in challenging environments.

FROM CONCEPT TO FINAL PRODUCT

Our product-development process begins by identifying a genuine operational need.

New equipment is developed through a combination of field experience, direct consultation with end users, prototype testing, and continuous refinement. Every component, attachment point, material, and construction method is selected with a specific purpose.

By managing development and manufacturing under one roof, our team can move efficiently from an initial concept to a working prototype and ultimately to full production.

Our in-house capabilities include:

  • Product design and technical development
  • Pattern creation and prototyping
  • Automated fabric and laminate cutting
  • Laser cutting
  • Industrial sewing and assembly
  • Bartack and reinforcement stitching
  • Hardware installation
  • Product inspection and quality control
  • Custom and contract manufacturing

This vertically integrated approach gives us greater control over construction quality, production timelines, and product consistency.

PREMIUM MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS

Tactical equipment is only as reliable as the materials used to build it.

We manufacture our equipment using carefully selected technical materials and components from established North American suppliers. Depending on the product and its intended application, this may include:

  • CORDURA® nylon fabrics
  • Squadron® laminated materials
  • MIL-SPEC nylon webbing
  • Hook-and-loop materials
  • High-strength polymer hardware
  • Heavy-duty thread
  • Elastic retention materials

Whenever possible, we prioritize materials manufactured in Canada and the United States. Materials are selected based on strength, abrasion resistance, weight, environmental performance, and suitability for professional field use.

QUALITY CONTROL AT EVERY STAGE

Quality control is integrated throughout our manufacturing process rather than left until the final step.

During production, our team verifies material placement, seam construction, reinforcement points, hardware installation, dimensional consistency, and overall workmanship. High-stress areas are reinforced using bartacks, double stitching, laminated structures, or additional material layers where required.

Each finished product is inspected before leaving our facility.

Maintaining production in-house allows us to identify issues quickly, make immediate adjustments, and continuously improve our designs based on manufacturing data and customer feedback.

FIELD-DRIVEN DESIGN

Our products are developed with direct input from the people who rely on tactical equipment in real-world conditions.

We regularly work with military personnel, law-enforcement teams, tactical units, rescue professionals, instructors, and experienced outdoor users. Their feedback helps us refine details such as equipment access, load distribution, retention, modularity, durability, and integration with existing systems.

This collaboration ensures our products are not simply designed to look tactical. They are engineered to function as part of a complete operational system.

MODERN MANUFACTURING. EXPERIENCED CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Our manufacturing process combines modern equipment with skilled hands-on craftsmanship.

Automated cutting and laser-cutting technology allow us to create accurate, repeatable components while reducing unnecessary material waste. Our experienced sewing and assembly team then constructs each product using industrial equipment and proven reinforcement methods.

Technology gives us precision and consistency. Skilled craftsmanship ensures every detail is properly executed.

Together, they allow us to manufacture durable equipment while retaining the flexibility needed to develop specialized and custom products.

CUSTOM AND CONTRACT MANUFACTURING

In addition to our standard product line, Carcajou Tactical supports custom-development and contract-manufacturing projects for government agencies, military and law-enforcement organizations, specialized teams, businesses, and industry partners.

Depending on project scope and production requirements, our services may include:

  • Modification of existing Carcajou Tactical products
  • Development of mission-specific equipment
  • Custom dimensions, configurations, and attachment systems
  • Agency or unit identification
  • Private-label manufacturing
  • Original equipment manufacturing
  • Prototype and sample production
  • Small- and medium-volume production runs
  • Large-scale production planning

Every project is evaluated based on technical requirements, materials, quantities, testing needs, and production capacity.

WHY CANADIAN MANUFACTURING MATTERS

Manufacturing in Canada gives us more than control over where our products are made. It gives us control over how they are made.

Domestic manufacturing allows us to:

  • Maintain direct oversight of product quality
  • Communicate quickly between design and production teams
  • Respond efficiently to customer and agency requirements
  • Make product improvements without relying on distant factories
  • Produce specialized equipment in practical quantities
  • Support Canadian skilled employment
  • Strengthen the North American tactical-equipment supply chain
  • Reduce dependence on long and unpredictable overseas production cycles

For professional users, this means greater transparency, better support, and direct access to the people responsible for designing and manufacturing their equipment.
