Worth the wait!

Worth the wait!.. I love this set up. It’s well made and easy to put together. I have a big head but not too big 7 3/4 and the fit feels maxed out for my size. Anyone with a bigger head might have problems though. The problem was mainly after inserting the forehead pad, it just didn’t sit as flush anymore. But regardless I love it and it’s still pretty secure. I wish they would branch out to other patterns like Kryptek Highlander. I’d buy it again even with the fit issue.

Fits my gigantic head - with a catch

Right of the bat, I love this n g head harness and boonie hat combo. It really does give Captain Price aura vibes. Whenever I want to use my nvgs, and I’m not looking to carry the weight of a helmet, this thing shines. Little psa for those who have a big head like me, you can swap out the EVA foam out of the forehead padding, simply cut the shape out of a thinner sheet of Eva foam and put it back on the inside of the forehead pad. Now I can wear this for hours.

Head hardness when combined with the boonie hat is about 3 sizes to small from actually staying on your head. Adjusted correctly, the harness by itself is great and the boonie by itself fits great, but the boonie is to small to properly pull down and stay in position when combined with the head harness. Its even worse when you actually attach nods and counterweight.

This is my second bravo six, and they changed things from the first one i bought. They didnt say there was an update either. Would i buy again? Probably not. Seeing as the first gen was abysmal and they didnt offer upgrades for those, in any way.

Great product

Great product, youtube installation guide was handy

Good setup

The padding and the many adjustment points make it about as comfortable as you can get without an actual helmet. Plus it looks rad, and let's be real that's part of the draw. You'll definitely want some weight in the counterweight pouch, even with just a mono.

This is really a great idea

This is really a great idea. It's so much better when I'm testing night vision stuff to just wear the boonie hat as opposed to having to put on a heavy helmet just to check something out. You absolutely need to have a counter weight when using this hat to balance everything out and to wear it comfortably. It looks cool too, you get that Captain Price look.

If you have a big head be mindful that you may need to remove the padding to make it fit. Regardless its great.

Best NVG Harness out there

Comparing against my another harness that, I like the layout of this one much more. I especially like the integration with the boonie hat and how secure it feels around my head and under the chin. Overall fit and finish is excellent. It was easy to set up and feels very secure. I'm very happy with my purchase.

If there was an option for it this would be a 3.5 star overall its not bad i think it would benefit greatly from a small redesign especially with the chin strap area. This is probably my biggest problem with it, no matter how much i mess with it and adjust it its very uncomfortable. I think it would also be better as a standalone product rather then putting it all together it has way to much going on inside of the cap. I know its meant to be able to wear just the harness or boonie cap separately but for comfort sake it would be better to have it integrated into the cap itself. I would definitely recommend watching there youtube video on it when setting it up.

Simple enough setup, and way more comfy than using the helmet all of the time

Assembled

I feel like for the price I’m paying for this boonie hat it should be fully assembled out of the box. And possibly some better retention on the head. Integrate a worm dial adjustment device.

Bravo Six Skull Harness Bundle

Best NVG option out there if you’re not wearing a helmet. Comfortable and stable all night. I’ll never wear a skull crusher again.

Comfortable

Very light weight and compact way for nods carriage. Folds up into a pouch in my belt kit with my nods easy.

Comfortable, stable, works great.

I wore it for a few hours with my pvs 14 and it was comfortable the whole time. Much easier on the neck than a kevlar. Make sure to counterweight it with something in the battery pouch even if you don’t have an external pack, it makes it much more comfortable and stable. After using both I’d recommend this over a bump helmet for single or lightweight dual tubes, it’s significantly lighter and much easier to pack than a bulky helmet.

Really cool idea in practice. Needs some improvement imo

Really wanted to like this skull harness/boonie combo. The issue for me comes down to stability with dual tubes. Having so much weight up front with the webbing being as narrow as it is leaves for a very "floppy" experience. I tried adjusting multiple ways and simply wasn't able to get it in a configuration that was satisfactory to me. The battery pack doesn't secure very well allowing it to flop around pretty bad. I really think the harness needs wider webbing and squadron in the nape area as well over the top of the head. Single tube worked ok but with duals I had a really hard time keeping the tubes in front of my eyes even with a battery pack and additional 10 oz of rear ward weight. Your mileage may vary but ill be selling this soon and sticking with a bump.

Excellent lightweight and portable harness system.

This is probably the best turnkey boonie/skull mount system on the market. There may be better stand alone skull crushers out there but the way this one integrates with the boonie and battery pack makes it the best modular and scalable system currently available.

In my opinion a system like this is best suited for a lightweight monocular. I have been using it with a LLI MH1 with standard mil spec optics and I have found it necessary to run my counterweight at nearly a 1:1 in order to minimize pressure on my forehead. Due to the nature of how soft harnesses work almost all of the weight of your unit is felt squarely on the center of your forehead and for me personally it really becomes noticeable after about 2 hours of use.

My main nitpick with this harness is that it relies heavily on the chin strap to pull the weight of your NVG to the rear of your head. I think if the rear section of the harness hugged the base of the skull a bit lower down the whole system would lock in much better and would probably give the sensation of a more well balanced structure sitting on your head.

All in all this is a great system and because its so easy to pack and takes up so little space I find I get more use out of my binos simply because I don't have to lug a helmet around in a bag. For me this is the biggest selling point for these harnesses, we spend big money on our NVG systems and anything that makes it easier to get time under nods is a win in my book.

Very solid and nice product. Wish there was something that cupped the back of the head a little better. Otherwise it’s been nice to walk around the house with, I’ll leave an official review on site once I get some serious playtime with it.

Skull Harness Bundle

I just recieved this and havent actually used this in the field yet. So far the initial impressions are its very well made. The only downside is the lack of any instructions with the bundle. Yes you have a video but its not very detailed. There are extra parts that came with the bundle and no explanation for them.

The BEST head harness on the market.

I’ve used a number of skull crushers & head harnesses during my 7 years in infantry/recon within the Australian Defence Force… I wish we had this in the battalion! This is hands down the BEST head harness on the market. Thank you for an amazing product.

Great gear but a little snug for my grape.

This harness and boonie cover is excellent. Very well made and very sturdy. Very easy to assemble and adjust.
My only personal problem is that I have a large head and there is no way to make the circumference bigger to accommodate my girth. Also I wear their larger sniper boonie and it fits perfectly. This may be their regular size boonie. That would be a nice option. The hat makes the already snug harness a tad bit tighter. I've always gotten headaches wearing the old harnesses so the convenience of not having to wear a helmet of any kind trumps any aches.
