High-Performance Gaiter for Mountaineering and Extreme Environments

Built for extreme cold, deep snow, and demanding mountain environments, the Outdoor Research Men’s Expedition Crocodile® Gaiter is the most rugged version of the legendary Crocodile gaiter, providing exceptional waterproof protection and durability for extended winter operations.

Constructed with a 3-layer GORE-TEX® upper and heavily reinforced 1000D Cordura® lower panels, the Expedition Crocodile keeps snow, rain, mud, and debris away from boots and lower layers while remaining breathable during high-output movement.

The oversized circumference is specifically designed to accommodate insulated winter footwear, plastic mountaineering boots, and heavily layered cold-weather pants, making these gaiters particularly well suited for severe winter conditions.

High-wear areas around the boot and inner leg are reinforced with abrasion-resistant Cordura®, providing added protection against rocks, ice, vegetation, crampons, snowshoes, and other equipment. A packcloth-lined lower section provides additional durability around the boot.

The rugged BioThane® instep strap provides a secure and adjustable connection beneath the boot, while the double-stitched hook-and-loop front closure creates a dependable seal against snow and debris.
